AFSCME Council 67 is “All in with Alsobrooks”
Yesterday, I was proud to be endorsed by AFSCME Council 67, the nation's largest and fastest growing public services employees union. AFSCME’s local councils in Prince George’s County represent about 1,200 AFSCME union members who serve in our County Government, at Prince George’s Community College, and as school crossing guards.
AFSCME leadership hailed the historic contract my administration negotiated that makes our school crossing guards the highest paid in Maryland and provides raises that will support working families in these difficult financial times.
I am so grateful to the public service employees, many who are members of AFSCME, who came to work every day during the pandemic, despite the challenges we faced. These dedicated employees kept our government running, and because of them, residents continued to have access to critical services and resources, even if the physical doors to our buildings were closed.
I look forward to working with AFSCME Council 67 to continue the tremendous progress we have made over the past three and a half years. I know that with the support of AFSCME and so many others, we will continue going further together.
