Honored to be endorsed by The Washington Post

I was honored to be endorsed by the Washington Post yesterday for a second term as Prince George’s County Executive. The editorial, which you can read HERE, outlines some of the accomplishments we’ve made together including; investing in increased mental health access, pulling over $400 million into the local economy and infrastructure, and breaking ground on new schools and a cancer center.

The Post editorial board praised this work:

Ms. Alsobrooks has been an excellent steward of a complex jurisdiction. She has earned reelection, and we endorse her in the July 19 Democratic primary, whose winner is a shoo-in to win the general election.

Ms. Alsobrooks has compiled an impressive record in her first term. She deserves a second.

The theme of my campaign - Further Together - is borrowed from the sage African Proverb many of you have heard me quote: “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” With the endorsement and support of so many respected organizations and community members, we truly have gone Further Together in Prince George’s County.

In December 2018, I took my oath to diligently and faithfully represent the interests of the people of Prince George’s County. I have not wavered and I will not waver from that promise. This 2022 election, let us choose hope as we move forward. Let us choose unity and boldness as we continue to confront the issues that impact our communities, and together, we will build a brighter future for everyone.

I’m so proud to have the endorsement of The Washington Post. We have accomplished so much in our County, and I’m confident we will continue to go Further Together.

Yours in service, Angela Alsobrooks, Prince George’s County Executive
